Chevy Chevelle

As mentioned in the previous post about the famous El Camino, next up on the list is the Chevy Chevelle. Chevelles were made from 1963-1977 as one of the more powerful cars of the early 60s. The Chevelle went through a lot of changes and face lifts throughout its years of production. At the beginning, in 1963, the Chevy Chevelle started with a 220 horsepower engine and swapped to a 327 engine (very famous Chevrolet produced engine, pictured below) bringing 300 horsepower. And again in 1965 another engine upgrade brought 350 horsepower for the Super Sport (SS) model, however, only 201 Chevelles were made in 1965.

As the clock turned to the 1970s, Chevy redesigned the Chevelle into a sleek looking racing car with twin stripes and an air scoop option on the hood, pictured below.

The late 1970s also brought major changes to the Chevelle as it became less of a racing car, and more of a luxury car with a long body, similar to Lincoln's or Cadillac's of the 70s.
