1945-1958 GMC Pickup Truck(s)

The last of the truck series within this blog, the story of GMC can be taken all the way back to the early years of the 20th century. Furthermore, even though this blog is focused on the 50s-70s, the 40s period is included because of the importance of the production of GMC's in the 40s. GMC built and sent 529,100 of their 2 & 1/2 ton trucks, nicknamed "Jimmys," to the Army during World War II (Pictured Below).

Other than that, the GMC's version of the pickup truck in the 50s were very similar to other popular brands like Ford and Chevy. Minor shifts to the headlights, grill, and to the emblem on the hood of the truck differentiate different models of the GMC pickup. All can be seen below (you'll have to look close to the emblem from pictures 1-2, as the emblem is off the truck in picture 2).
