1950s Chevy Task Force

A continuation from the previous theme of ford trucks from the 50s-70s, the Chevy trucks from this time period are some of the most popular trucks in the history of American pickup trucks. The Chevy Task Force, also known as the Chevy Apache, was made from 1955-1959, even though Chevy continued to release trucks and vehicles similar to the Task Force, for example, when they released the El Camino in 1959.


Changes to the truck and its design can be evident through many exterior differences, pictured below. From picture 1 to picture 2 you can see that Chevy shifted from 2 to 4 head

lights to accommodate an industry-wide switch to the headlight systems. Picture 1 is a 1957 Chevy Pickup. Picture 2 is a 1958 Chevy Fleet-side Pickup. Picture 3 is a 1959 Chevy Apache. The long picture below is an advertising poster from 1956 portraying the different uses for the Chevy Truck.
