Chevy Camaro

It has been a while since a Chevy vehicle has been posted about in this blog so we'll play some catch up with this one. Chevy has been made widely popular by its Camaro model of vehicles, which they introduced as a response to the Ford Mustang. The Camaro is a sports muscle car that is still being produced today.

The first year of the Chevrolet Camaro was 1967 as not only a competitor to the Ford Mustang (Mentioned in previous post) but also the Pontiac Firebird (Also in previous post) as well as the Plymouth Barracuda and the Dodge Challenger (Posts to come in the near future). The first-generation Camaro was offered as both a coupe-style body as well as a convertible. An interesting package General Motors offered with the Camaro vehicle was in the "RS" package that came with a blacked out grill and hidden headlights, among other stylish features.

Noticeable changes came towards the beginning of the 2nd generation, in 1970. The grill size was reduced, headlights transitioned, and overall body redesigned for this generation of Camaro's. Not to mention the engine shift from the high 200s and low 300s horsepower options to mid 300 and low 400 horsepower options.

Over the years, the Camaro has taken on many different looks that can be similarly recognized in designs by competing vehicle models. For example, the 1977 model looks similar to the Pontiac Firebird and the 2002 model looks similar to various Pontiac builds.

All in all, the Chevy Camaro has been one of the most successful vehicle of the classic car era. Today, the Chevy Camaro has a distinctive modern look, that doubles as a sleek and mean sports car.
