One of the most famous cars ever made by one of the most popular car companies, the Chevy Impala is one of the few classic cars that were first produced in the classic car era and still being produced today. The first year of the Chevy Impala was 1958, and since then, there have been over 17 million Chevy Impala's that have been made since then. Chevrolet named the car after one of the fastest land animals on earth, known as the African Antelope, with speeds up to almost 40mph. Even though the car hasn't been the fastest, or most powerful vehicle of the classic car era, the name and overall Impala brand has lasted through the years.
The car was already a sleek and stylish car with a convertible option, however, since it was initially designed to be a spin off of an already existing vehicle called a Bel-Air, the Impala got an early redesign in 1959.
A decade after the initial year of the Impala, the car got another redesign that was a hit...at first. However, sales fell off as the new look for the car was harder on the eyes than the previous stylish makeup.
The Chevy Impala can still be identified today as an attractive vehicle with a sleek design and impressive engine to pair with its good looks.
