Ford Mustang (1970s-Present)

I initially said two posts for the Ford Mustang, but let's make it three. This post is different from the previous posts because it will be a speed warp through time from the 70s-present, whereas the first two posts focused on one decade, or model of the car.

We will start in 1978 as the Mustang made some changes to the Mustang exterior, most notably the hood of the car. Now, of course, there are other noticeable differences like the T-top options, the more neutral style of grill, and more overall graphics to the design, but the hood of the car almost has a Pontiac Firebird feel to it.

The late 80s version of the Mustang became a longer, more powerful version of the car. This model is special to me because of the 1989 Mustang LX in our family. I enforced my father to never sell this car as it should become mine when ready. Still waiting dad...

(Not our family Mustang, just a regular '89 LX)

In the 90s, to start the 4th generation of Mustangs, Ford went to the futuristic approach with the design in the Mustang SVT. The SVT was immediately popular, which caused Ford to run with the SVT design and overall approach from 1994, into the early 2000s.

Today, as mentioned in the previous post, Ford is continuing the Mustangs legacy with the 2021. However, in 2020, the Mustang was hardly recognizable with Ford's Mach-E, a sedan/SUV/Performance car. Like the design or not, Ford has yet to cease the Mustang line and will continue to evolve as they see fit for their legendary vehicle.
