Pontiac Firebird

As mentioned in the most recent post of the Mustang, the Pontiac Firebird had a very distinctive look throughout the years it was made. The firebird was made from 1967-2002 and even though it has changed body styles, colors, and other parts of the car, the Pontiac has always stayed relatively distinctive compared to other cars in its history.

The first generation of firebirds were sold and produced from 1967-1969 and sold over 250,000 cars in its inaugural years.

In 1970, the firebird got a meaner, and more modern look with an upgrade to the engine as well. The 70s Firebird introduced the 400 cubic inch, 370 horsepower Ram Air IV Motor.

A classic and distinctive look to the Firebird came in the 70s, arguably most popular in 1977 (Shown below) with the bird emblem on the hood of the car. It has been historically categorized as a screaming chicken, rising phoenix, and maybe the most logical, as a firebird. However you look at it, the legacy of the hood emblem is a classic salute to classic car history.
